Justin Seymour became the tournament's first three-time champion, beating Kyle Courcy on the seventh hole of a sudden-death playoff.
Canton, CT · September 2026
Justin Seymour of Manchester is the first three-time winner of the Matterhorn International Pro-Am. He needed seven extra holes to get there.
Kyle Courcy of Lewiston, Maine, took a one-stroke lead into the final round and aced the 17th to force a playoff at 153. Neither player gave ground until the seventh playoff hole. Courcy's first ball found the water there, and Seymour closed it out with a two.
It's Seymour's first Matterhorn title since his back-to-back wins in 2018 and 2019. It also makes up for 2023, when he lost a five-hole playoff to Dave Vayda. He shot the low round of the week, a 35 in round two, and said the win came down to keeping his mistakes to a minimum: four of them in four and a half rounds, by his count.
Anna Seymour finished fourth, three strokes back. It's her second fourth-place finish in three years, the best finish by a woman in tournament history. Mark "The Highlighter" Novicki aced the first playoff hole to take third. Dave Vayda finished fifth with a tournament-high eight aces.
In the Amateur division, Canton's Matt Hession won with a record 78 over two rounds. Simsbury's Jeff Pomeroy was one stroke back, and New Hartford's Tony DeDominicis was third at 81.

About the Tournament
The Matterhorn International Pro-Am started in 2017 as a collaboration between Matterhorn Mini Golf and The Putting Penguin. Every edition has been played at Matterhorn Mini Golf in Canton, Connecticut, a Swiss-themed adventure course on Route 44 with a towering rock Matterhorn, alphorns and St. Bernards.
There have always been two divisions. The Pro division is open to anyone who wants the biggest test and the prize money. Each year it features the best minigolfers in the Northeast and often expands to high-ranking minigolfers from across the US and the world. The Amateur division is for everyone else, from first-time tournament players to local regulars.
The Matterhorn was one of the founding regional tournaments of the American Mini Golf Alliance. It's a Blue Tier event, the tier that awards the most national ranking points, and more points are available in the Pro division. AMA membership is free in 2026.
From 2023 to 2025 the tournament was a stop on the WMF World Adventure Golf Tour, sending Connecticut players to the international Tour Final. It wasn't selected for 2026 but will likely return to the tour in the future. Stay tuned for updates on the 2027 tournament.
